Many years ago, I was inspired to write down a process to activate what my Inner Wisdom called "Transformational Living". When I wrote it, I don't think I understood the significance of it, but over the years I have returned to it again and again.
This week I experienced life as transformation. I felt really stuck and miserable, so I knew that something important was going on. Something within me was calling me to be more of who I came here to be (but I hadn't a clue about how to change the situation).
Not knowing what else to do, I followed the four steps that were given to me:
a) Give up control of the situation or behavior that you are not able manage by force of will. (For me, this usually means acknowledging and feeling my pain. Mindfulness practice helps me with this step.)
b) Take the risk of saying out loud to someone you trust how you really feel and what you really need. (This one is difficult but it never fails to open my heart and bring me support).
c) Notice when things start to open or move (usually a small or large feeling of relief, warmth, or expansion)
d) Validate your courage and "claim" your transformation by expressing gratitude and doing one caring, kind thing for yourself (often I take some time to play or create something fun or just rest, which lifts my spirits and gives me the motivation to take a stand or make a decision).
That's the whole process, no kidding. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I just did this a few days ago- and I feel lighter, freer, and moving forward again. I just wanted to pass this on in case you have some situation or behavior that you want to transform. I trust that your Inner Wisdom will individualize these steps just for you. Let me know how it goes.
